Casio is a very well known company that has been responsible for making many nice portable gadgets for the past few years. They first took on the competition with their many calculator models and then went on to some audio devices, musical instruments, PDAs, and even cameras. Each of these lineups had their own histories, but one of their top product lineups that had a long history was the watches made by Casio.
History
Casio's innovation in the watch industry started from the very beginning as they were the first to manufacture quartz crystal watches which are now very popular. These watches were made available to consumers in both digital and analog styles so they reached out to all sides quickly. The manufacturer even managed to fuse their calculator technologies with their time keeping capabilities to give birth to the calculator watch.
All of these events happened several decades ago and they continued their streak by being the first to manufacture watches that can display other times that are set to different time zones. Other watches were able to give some information about the weather. The watches that are currently available really show how far their watch division expanded.
Watches Currently Available
Currently, Casio offers watches that fall in 10 different categories. The G-Shock series are the popular category of choice for those that want added resistance to their watches. The high demand for these watches led to making of the Baby-G and G-Shock Mini models which have feminine styles. Although these watches looked sporty and even have some special time keeping features for people into sports, there are special sports watches that cater to more athletes.
Outdoor enthusiasts can benefit from the Pathfinder watches which are rugged like the G-Shock, but have powerful navigation features like a digital compass and barometer. There are also two Edifice watches available with one of them combining analog and digital while the other sporting a dual layer display for serious timekeepers.
Casio continues to have a large variety of classic watches for people on the budget and special dress watches for the ladies. Those that require more accurate timekeeping can go for the Waveceptor products that use atomic timekeeping technology to make them more accurate than other watches. Databank watches have been made popular by Casio as well and continue to sell with some of the models having 30-page databanks and several interesting features that can manipulate other gadgets.
The Future of Casio Watches
Casio's website continues to notify visitors of new additions to their lineups. Just recently, Casio announced a collaboration between the Baby-G lineup and the Pastry fashion brand, resulting to the new pink and rugged BG5601 for selected customers.
Casio has already proven that they can innovate by adding unique features to watches, but other competitors are still trying to win customers through style. Casio isn't far behind with the styles of their products as they continue to roll out new designs that attract men, women, and even the younger folks.
